Im 99% sure the context is that the original Overwatch was set to release three days from the original post. Overwatch is the same genre as TF2 (Class shooter) and was incredibly hyped on launch. So the creator of this meme assumes Overwatch would kill TF2.
Despite this, Overwatch never really overtook TF2. Since then, Overwatch 1 lost most ppl’s interest, and was eventually shuttered and replaced with OW2, which is a free-to-play predatory gacha game that, as I know it, is not doing very well. TF2, despite being practically abandoned by the developers and being about a decade older than OW1, has a much healthier playerbase.
tl;dr this is the Class Shooter version of “We popping the biggest bottles when Makorra happens tomorrow”, except with a much slower punchline.
One trope Im a big fan of in media is when the loyalty outweighs a conflict of interest. I don’t agree with what you’re doing, but I will follow where you go no matter what. I will do anything for you even if it opposes my own morals
so this European clothing retailer decided to advertise their jean cuts on youtube and it’s unintentionally the funniest shit I’ve seen today. why? well.

now important context here: in German, die (pronounced ‘dee’) is just a feminine article, it literally means “the”.

but if an ad gets placed in the middle of an English video and doesn’t use a single explicitly German word for most of the ad, even a native speaker is gonna think “they want me to die how?” it keeps getting funnier.
We for real for real for realsies have to popularize the term smith college problem . And normalize telling people they’re having a smith college problem . And if you’re always posting about smith college problems it is your duty to normalize going oh okay never mind once people tell you that you are smith college problem posting
problem: people assume that I’m non-binary just because I’m a woman with a shaved head. This is a reductive harmful and widespread approach to gender identity that people need to grapple with and work on.
Answer: you are having a Smith College Problem. If you live anywhere in the world that is not the dorms on a women’s college campus you won’t have this issue. If you lived anywhere else in the world you would be having issues like sure hope I don’t experience hiring discrimination for being a woman with a shaved head. Sure hope I don’t get called a slur on the street for being a woman with a shaved head.
Problem: when a character gets a love interest of another sex people complain because they headcanoned them as queer and now they’re confirmed straight. This is an erasure of bisexuality becuase you can date other sexes and still be same sex attracted because you’re bisexual.
Answer: you are having a Smith College Problem. You’re not critiquing reactions to a student film festival. You’re critiquing reactions to very main stream media funded by corporations who want to make money at all costs. This corporation is not trying to give you nuanced bisexual representation. This corporation is cutting gay readings off at the knee because when it did the coin flip on whether or not pink dollars are worth it the answer was no.
social media sites should let you add custom buttons on your profile. like maybe you get max 3 buttons and they can have whatever text you want. and each button has its own persistent counter for how many times it’s been clicked. here’s some concept art
The person who made cookie clicker thinks we should all have buttons that you click and the numbers go up? You don’t say.
ok i just got this thought out of nowhere but blog divers (people who scroll through a blog and reblog things that were posted YEARS AGO) are actually a super important part of the tumblr ecosystem
With people going inactive and deactivating, a lot of classic tumblr posts and also missed gems get lost because those connections get broken. Even on my own blog I forget about posts I made until I see someone in my activity reblog one of them- which then inspires me to reblog it myself because it was a good post and I want my new followers to see
do not feel bad about diving through someone’s blog and reblogging shit from years ago, it keeps dashboards alive
(and if anyone has a problem with that, they can just block you or they can delete the root post ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, two things that have absolutely no effect on the grand scheme of our lives)
Adding tags from reblogs so people see how much this is appreciated!
n then adding a good point:
ofc
I don’t touch personal posts in general unless OP is requesting interaction in it somewhere. Thankfully we can turn off reblogs on posts now but that’s a big ask to do that for every personal post you made in the lifespan of your blog
be a classy blog diver, leave the dirty laundry in their bins
blog divers are the ocean sunfish which travels deep below to reintroduce fallen nutrients to the surface
